Darren Chen (He/Him/His), 3L at SMU Dedman School of Law

Darren Chen is from Texas and attends SMU in Dallas. Prior to law school, he worked in the Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) tech industry helping enterprises achieve their ESG goals through the use of technology. He has a strong interest in the tech industry, startups, and venture capitalism.

As the son of immigrant parents, Darren is passionate about AAPI and minority representation in the country. One of his motivations for going to law school was the growing amount of Asian hate crimes in the country during the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic. He hopes to be able to work towards that passion in his future career and become an active member of his community. His hobbies include Formula 1, hiking, tennis, and historical novels.
