2021-22 Board Elections

Dear NAPALSA Members,

On behalf of the NAPALSA board, I would like to take this opportunity to welcome you to our first-ever virtual elections! NAPALSA was established in 1981. We are a completely student-led organization. Our Board of Directors consists of over 12 diverse and dedicated law students across the country. NAPALSA was created to support, to advocate for, and to provide a voice for Asian Pacific Americans in the legal community. We provide extensive networking opportunities for our law students to observe and learn from practicing attorneys and judges. We also jointly hold a national conference each November in conjunction with the National Asian Pacific American Bar Association (NAPABA) Convention.

All NAPALSA meetings have always been virtual because our leadership is spread across the country. Depending on a board member’s role, they may be keeping the website up to date, recording podcasts, reaching out to students in their region and more. NAPALSA maintains a strong relationship with NAPABA which provides our members with a direct link to prestigious APA attorneys.

As President for two years, I can say that I have had the privilege of working with students, attorneys, and judges from across the country. I have gained valuable insights into the obstacles APA legal professionals face. Board members of NAPALSA are the decision-making organ of the organization. We vote on sponsoring APALSA chapter events, creating media like podcasts, and partnering with APA organizations outside of the law.

I encourage you to take advantage of this opportunity to learn from successful lawyers, to connect with students from across the country, and to immerse yourself in a diverse community. We hope to see many applicants from throughout the country. Additional information about voting will be released according to the timeline distributed with this letter.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to get in touch. If you have a position in mind and would like to know more about the role you can contact the current member. All our NAPALSA emails are on our website.

Amanda Pham Haines
