Weston Koyama (Conference Co-chair)

Weston Koyama is a law student at the University of Oregon where he serves as the University's first Minoru Yasui Fellow, a Wayne Morse Fellow, and as co-director of the school's APALSA. Weston is an active participant in the Japanese American community in Oregon and a recipient of the Thomas T. Hayashi Memorial Law Scholarship from the Japanese American Citizens League. Weston graduated from Portland State University in 2015 where he studied Japanese and served as one of three student speakers at his graduation ceremony. Weston's ancestors immigrated from Japan to Portland, Oregon in 1915 and since that time his family has lived in the Portland area almost continuously. Weston hopes to give back to the community that has been home to his family for four generations while working to maintain his heritage culture and language.
